Bernhard's Nurseries offer a large selection of the finest quality shrubs, roses, conifers and container grown trees.

We containerise selected trees from our open ground stock and can offer a broad selection of over 70 varieties in 25 species.

Sizes range from 1.8 to 2.4 feathered in 10 litre containers to a8.20 cm girth in 200 litre containers.

The terminology used to classify trees is as follows;

Transplant - a young tree planted at least once

Whip - a young tree transplanted at least once without significant growth or head.

Feathered tree - a young tree transplanted once with an upright central leader not less than 1.6cm with lateral shoots near ground level.

Tree growth varies from one type of tree to another; the trees offered at specific sizes can, according to variety, be anything between 2 - 8 years old. The grading from light standard to extra heavy standard refers to various heights and girths of trees. (Sizes of trees offered are given in either metric height or girth measurement.
